DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT OF PLANETARY GEARBOX FOR BAR BENDING MACHINE

 Construction of buildings and fabricators requires bending bars. Due to human inability to bend metals to desired shape and angle, nowadays we need machines to produce quality products. Every function of humans is reduced by a machine. Bar bending machines are used for bending rods, strips, angles, and bars. Based on the size of the bar, we calculated the power and torque required to bend the bars of different sizes. The planar gearbox chain for bending the bar is designed in such a way that, the torque generated by the gearbox is sufficient to bend the strip of dia adequately. 12 mm to 48 mm easily. Top Gear designs a special planetary gearbox with a hollow output shaft with single or double keyways to which the banding wheel of the machine is connected. This arrangement eliminated the need for other connecting parts as a result of a simpler construction. Such gearboxes are offered with flange mounting for direct attachment to the motor to eliminate the belt pulley arrangement. This drive is supplied with a long life synthetic lubricant.
